Quickly Make your Computer

Secure and Reliable

Without Wasting a Minute of Your Precious Time

or Investing in High Priced Tools and Services that Don't Really Work.

Business By Barnhill

Has this ever happened to you?

You arrive to work, greeted by a blinking voicemail light and half a page of tasks that are leftover from yesterday.
You sign into your desktop computer, but it seems a little slow, so you choose to restart it while you check your voicemail. What you didn't realize is that your system downloaded a security update overnight, which is now being installed before you can sign back in.
20 minutes later, you're still staring at a spinning white circle on your screen and anxiously looking at the clock as the minutes count down to your first meeting.
Of course, the agenda and your presentation notes are saved on the desktop computer that is still updating.
All you can do is wait.
We have all been there, and once it happens you're stuck.
There is a simple way to prevent this - Proactive Maintenance.

The Case Against Automatic Updates

I know what you're thinking... "I have automatic updates turned on. That's enough... right?"

Keeping your computer updated is one important part of Proactive Maintenance, but it's only the beginning.

Automatic updates are better than nothing, however only relying on automatic updates can cause more problems than it solves.
  • Installation Delay: There can be a significant delay between the time an update is released and when your system detects that it is available, downloads it, and installs the update.
  • Resource Usage: Checking for updates can be a CPU and Memory intensive process, and often causes noticeable system slowness when it occurs.
  • Incompatibility: Some updates can cause problems with other software that is installed, or prevent hardware from functioning properly.
  • Missed Updates: If the program that is supposed to check for updates stops working, you might not receive a notification that an update is ready to install.
  • Malware Exposure: While it happens rarely, servers that host automatic updates can be used to deliver infected versions of software and install it without your knowledge.
  • Update Blocking: Malicious software on your system can disable automatic update functions or reports incorrect software version information to prevent legitimate updates from being installed.
  • Lack of Visibility: There is no way to see a comprehensive status of all updates on your system unless you use a third-party application (like the one that we use to maintain systems for our clients).

My Practices Keep You Safe!

  • Remote Support: Whenever possible, I use remote access to maintain and repair your computer.
  • Masks and Gloves: When I'm on-site at your location, I'm wearing masks and gloves - 100% of the time.
  • Social Distancing: I'm laser-focused on taking care of my customers, not on attending the next crowded social event.
  • Temperature Checks: I take my temperature multiple times every day to ensure that I'm as healthy as I feel.
  • Sanitization: I use alcohol sanitizer before and after every appointment to keep you safe.

Choose the IT Support Solution that not only takes care of your computers but also cares about your families!

The Hidden Costs of DIY Technology Maintenance

It's tempting to tackle problems on your own. After all, how long could it take?

Well, if you only do these things once per month:

  • Windows Updates (10 minutes): Check for new updates, install them, and restart the computer if necessary.
  • Application Updates (15 minutes): Check the vendor websites for new versions of your applications, download anything that is new, install the updates.
  • Disk Space (2 minutes): Check your free disk space and compare to yesterday to see how quickly it's filling up.
  • Disk Health (2 minutes): See if your drives are reporting any errors.
  • Failed logins (5 minutes): Check the event logs to see if any failed logins have occurred.
  • Check for System Events (5 minutes): Review the event log and see if any device issues are occurring.
  • Check for Application Events (5 minutes): Review the event log and see if any critical application problems have occurred.
  • Check for Security Events (5 minutes): Review the event log and see if any critical security events have been logged.
  • Check your Security Software (5 minutes): Check your anti-malware software to make sure it's up-to-date and review the scan logs to find out if anything has been found.

That's 54 minutes, but only if you ignore it for the rest of the month.

There is a better way though - it takes care of your computer every day,
it doesn't waste hours of your time, and it costs Less than $1 a day!

My Proactive Maintenance Service keeps your computer in top condition for less than $1 a day!

Flexible Pricing - No Long-term Commitments

These are unprecedented times, and I understand that committing to any type of expense is scary.
That's why I offer monthly plans with no cancellation penalty.
I obviously hope that you don't cancel once you sign up, but things happen, and I don't want you to worry if you need to make changes. Your monthly plan can be cancelled at any time.
However... if you're comfortable with the idea of an annual plan, you'll get 12 months for the price of 10 (and you still get the 30-day guarantee).
